Set a daily focus or intention
Most New Year’s resolutions aren’t achieved overnight. You’ll need to make decisions each day that bring you closer to your goals. Being able to articulate what you want to achieve is a critical first step to accomplishing any resolution. Take a moment to identify the next step that separates you from your goal, and then set an intention to make it happen.
Momentum makes setting a daily goal or intention easy, by asking you “What is your main focus for today?” every day. The focus you set will display front and center on your dashboard. Every time you open a new tab, you will see a friendly reminder of what you set out to do today, helping you stay on track.
If you want to focus on more than one item each day, check out Autofocus, available on Momentum Plus. Once you’ve completed your main focus, Autofocus automatically replaces it with the next task on your Todo list.
Schedule a resolution check-in
The set it and forget it approach doesn’t work with New Year’s resolutions. If you don’t monitor the progress towards your resolutions, December 31st will roll around and you’ll be none the wiser.
Set a reminder to reflect on the progress you’ve made towards your resolutions halfway through the year (July 1st). You may choose to reflect on your resolutions on a quarterly or monthly basis if they are particularly significant changes that require a lot of maintenance.

Momentum Plus has a useful Countdown feature that allows you to count down the days to important upcoming dates (e.g., work deadlines, vacations, weddings). Try adding your next resolution check-in date as a countdown!
Surround yourself with inspiration
An encouraging environment can help you get through the days that you’re struggling to meet your goals. We recommend keeping some photos or quotes that motivate you close by so you can turn to them when you’re in need of inspiration.

Prioritize your health
Time invested in being active will help you accomplish your health goals, which will have a positive effect on all other areas of your life. Regardless of the resolutions you’ve set for yourself this year, take care of your body, and it’ll take care of you.
For those of you with daily step goals, you may want to connect to the Fitbit Steps Metric that is available on Momentum Plus. Once connected, a friendly reminder of your step count for the day will display in the top right on your dashboard. If you don’t have a Fitbit device, you can use Fitbit’s free mobile app to track your steps with your phone.
