Our Weather widget had stayed more or less the same since the original launch of Momentum, so it was time for it to get some love. Today we are releasing an update to include daily highs/lows and the upcoming weekly forecast for all Momentum users.
We’ve also added a new, more accurate weather feed from Accuweather, now available on Momentum Plus. We also provide more detailed information for when you need more than just the current temperature.
High/low and 5-day forecast available to all
Everyone can now see a five-day preview of the weather ahead along with the current weather conditions. Click the Weather widget at the top right corner of your dashboard (or press the W hotkey) to see for yourself!
For more options like changing the metric units and editing the location, click the ••• at the top right corner of the Weather menu.
More accurate weather feed and extra weather info on Plus
Plus users now enjoy a more accurate weather feed from AccuWeather, an hourly forecast, and a bunch of other awesome nerdy weather info. Since there’s so much to see, you can toggle on and off much of this extra info as you see fit. Here’s a quick summary of what Plus subscribers access:
- New, more accurate weather feed from Accuweather.
- “Feels like” temperature, chance of rain/precipitation, and wind speed.
- Upcoming hour-by-hour forecast to plan your day.
- Extra weather info like sunrise/sunset times, humidity, pressure, UV index, and more.
- Plus the updates included in our Free version of Momentum (current conditions and five-day forecast).
If you’re not already a Momentum Plus member, consider subscribing to gain access to these extra Weather details and many other exclusive Plus benefits. You’ll also be supporting Momentum’s future developments. We thank you!
As we tested the updates we quickly realized that a more accurate feed would be a huge win, and that when people checked the weather they often looked at more than just the temperature. So, we came up with a way to be able to call up more info in a really intuitive way when it’s needed, while also keeping the minimal feel of Momentum.
We hope you enjoy the updates and we’d love to hear your feedback and suggestions!
