A Million Thanks

A while back, I created a goal to help a million people. I had no idea how it would be possible or even how I would define help. I wanted to become a “millionaire” of helping people. I thought that maybe over the course of an entire lifetime it would be possible. Momentum itself wasn’t even necessarily connected to that goal.

With Momentum I wanted to get in touch with what I needed and create that. I figured that the deeper I was able to understand what I needed that it might overlap with the needs of others and they might too find it useful. Well, the growth has been beyond our wildest dreams.

There’s a phenomenon where setting a goal can make it more likely. In two short years, it’s happened. We have crossed 1 million weekly active users.

Our sincerest and deepest thanks to each and every one of you of the Momentum community. We feel both an honour and a responsibility to serve our Momentum users as best we can. It’s our goal to continue to execute the Momentum vision of inspiring and assisting people in creating the life they want to live.

Now, what have we been up to? Here are a few things.

Partnership with 500px

We have partnered with 500px to showcase the amazing photography from their site. This ensures that we will always have fresh, amazing content. This partnership also opens up the possibility for multiple image feeds. More to come on that in the future.

The 500px update (0.60) is rolling out throughout the week. If you have any problems with the update, please let us know.

Account Sync

The account sync beta is progressing really well. 50 thousand people are using the account sync so far. Our servers are performing really well and we have been doing a few optimizations to ensure that the content loads really quickly. If you haven’t yet and wish to apply for the beta, click on the Settings widget in the bottom left and click the bar to sign up.

What’s Next?

We have many exciting things in the works that we can hardly wait to announce. We are working on some great new features, continued stability and performance improvements, and we also will soon have a big announcement. Stay tuned!
